We are about to experience the singularity event…
Welcome to 01:02:03 04/05/06, otherwise known as “010203040506″
Strange to think that in our entire lifetime, we will only ever glimpse this wonderfully simple yet thought-provoking chronological phenomenon for just one second. The Alignment of the time & date into such a string is not without issues & discussion points. …
Just under a fortnight from now, this formation will occur throughout most of the World. For Americans, with their calendar system working on the MM DD YY principle the moment passed virtually unnoticed last month, bar some self-proclaimed geeks on the internet and a few posts by keen “bloggers” (internet diarists)… primarily because most in the US do realise , even if only subconsciously, that their system for dates is somewhat dubious.
It would be fair to say that elsewhere the majority may well miss this event as it occurs slightly after 1am. We all stay up to glimpse the clocks hit New Year & the Millennium moment received much hype on the coat-tails of Y2K virus threats, yet somehow the 010203040506 moment has as yet not caught the imagination…
One could argue this moment has occurred before, and will again…just not like this, and not in your lifetime. If you juggle the format to find any other examples within your lifetime, you could argue that taking time after date proffers us the 1st of February 2003 at the time 04:05:06 as 010203040506, yet it too slipped by unnoticed. Why? Sequentially, humans being logical, smaller fractions will be ordered by size from small to large when it comes to times, dates, years… so early in the morning on May 4th 2006 is the only real, genuine chronological instance we will experience for a Century.
